With the big dog show having a older dog win the top prize, I've noticed that dogs have been in the news more. I'm sure it will just be a fad but it's always good for dogs to get some attention in the mainstream. The more dogs are mentioned the better care they will get.
I was looking through petfinder.com with a friend who wants to get a dog. It is overwhelming the number dogs that still need a good home. When you look up a dog like a black lab and you see that more then 6000 who need a good home.
We are thinking of getting a second dog but Toby might not like that so much. He likes being spoiled. He's good when other dogs come over to visit. He plays and enjoys the company as long as he is still the big dog. We'll have to see.
I started this blog as a spring board to creating a printed photography book on the lives and stories from the dog parks I’ve visited. There is a strong community that comes together for the sole purpose of letting their dogs play. This community comes together in very organic forms that can’t be created or organized. The people I meet come from all kinds of backgrounds and interests and might never meet up in any other forum. They are all bound together by the love for their dogs.

They're pretty social creatures. There'll be an adjustment period, but two dogs is actually kind of nice if they're paired-up right.
Lodo's right - there is an adjustment period but as long as you get the right dog for your family, the dogs usually love the company

We found our second dog at the dog park. She was abandoned there. We had a huge adjustment period. Lola my first dog was not used to sharing toys and was especially protective of her food. There were a few fights that ended with minor blood spilt and one that knocked the power out in the whole house. But after a few months of being extremely patient and learning to teach sharing of toys and to just keep them away from each other during feeding times all worked out.
Two boys can get along great. We have two girls. Girls tend to be a little more "catty" :)

Why stop at two? Well, maybe for good reasons!
