It's been a few weeks since I've been able to make it to the park. I've been busy with family visiting and visiting family. It was a beautiful day to be back too. The park was busy and everyone was relaxed. Well, maybe not the dogs though. There was lots of really excited dogs running and playing. My dog Toby was getting into the mix a bit but was taking it too seriously. He is at least getting more comfortable with the park again. I need to remember to bring treats for training to praise him for being good.
I do love my Sundays but it's not for every dog. Fenway and Scout, the bassets are great dogs but Fenway can't come because he gets way to excited and aggressive. He doesn't like dogs running up on him. Scout is always good now. He goes and explores and then comes back to check in (and get a treat). He has a love for German shepherds. His owners were guessing that he was friends with other German shepherds before being adopted.
I started this blog as a spring board to creating a printed photography book on the lives and stories from the dog parks I’ve visited. There is a strong community that comes together for the sole purpose of letting their dogs play. This community comes together in very organic forms that can’t be created or organized. The people I meet come from all kinds of backgrounds and interests and might never meet up in any other forum. They are all bound together by the love for their dogs.
